Privacy & advertising policy

1. Scope and data we process ourselves

The current release has no account system and no server-side database for personal Kundli profiles. The site can operate as a static web application. Information you type into the Kundli form is used in the browser to calculate and display the chart.

If the operator later adds accounts, analytics, cloud storage or another service that changes this data flow, this policy must be updated before that feature is enabled.

2. Information stored in your browser

The site uses local browser storage to remember settings such as language, collapsed/expanded course index, completed lessons, chart inputs, the latest generated chart, and selected calculation profiles. This information remains on the device/browser unless you clear site data or your browser removes it.

You can remove this local information through your browser’s site-data/storage controls. Clearing it may reset course progress and saved chart preferences.

3. Birthplace search

When you press the birthplace Search button, the place-search text is sent to the configured OpenStreetMap/Nominatim service to obtain candidate locations. The search request does not need your birth date or birth time.

The selected coordinates are used locally for the chart calculation. Time-zone detection is an estimate and remains visible/editable because locations near time-zone boundaries can require manual verification.

4. Hosting and technical logs

The deployed site may be delivered through a hosting or content-delivery provider. Like most web infrastructure, that provider may process technical request data such as IP address, browser/user-agent, requested URL, time of request and security logs under its own terms and privacy policy. Jyotish Path does not use those infrastructure logs as a personal Kundli profile in the core application.

5. Other people’s birth data

Do not enter another person’s birth details unless you have an appropriate reason and permission to use them. Even though the core chart calculation is local, birthplace searches and browser storage can still create data traces on the device or at third-party services.

6. Google AdSense and advertising data

If AdSense is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may process information as a result of ad serving, including page URL/context, IP address or general location, browser/device information, cookies or similar identifiers, and interactions with ads. Third parties may place or read cookies in your browser or use web beacons/IP addresses in connection with ad serving.

Ad personalisation, measurement and other advertising uses depend on your region, consent choices, Google settings and applicable law. Jyotish Path does not receive your Google account password or your private Google account contents through AdSense.

7. Consent in regulated regions

Where required for personalised advertising in the EEA, United Kingdom or Switzerland, the site operator must use a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. The consent interface and available choices are configured through the selected certified CMP/Google privacy tooling.

If consent is not available or does not permit personalisation, ad serving may be limited or non-personalised according to Google’s products, policies and applicable law.

8. Analytics

This release does not include a separate web-analytics product by default. If the operator later enables Google Analytics or another analytics service, the relevant collection, purpose, retention and consent information must be added to this policy before deployment.

9. Retention and your choices

Jyotish Path local-storage data remains until it is cleared by you, by the browser, or by site code in a future version. Third-party services such as Google or Nominatim process their own logs and data under their own policies and retention practices.

You can clear local site data, use browser cookie controls, use the consent choices shown where applicable, and use Google Ad Settings to manage advertising preferences.

10. Security and data minimisation

The site is intentionally designed to calculate charts locally and avoid collecting birth details in an application database for the core experience. No website can guarantee absolute security, so users should avoid entering information they do not want stored on their own device.

11. Changes and contact

This policy may change when the site’s functionality, service providers, advertising setup or legal obligations change. The date above will be updated when material changes are published. Contact information for the site operator is shown below.
