MODULE 9 · LESSON 9.1

What a divisional chart is

Treat a Varga as a mathematical subdivision of the same natal longitude, not as a second sky calculation.

Explanation

A divisional chart remaps each natal sidereal longitude according to a stated subdivision rule. The astronomical longitude itself does not change.

This course keeps D1 as the base chart and derives D2, D3, D7, D9, D10 and D12 locally from the same longitudes.

Because different Vargas answer different traditional questions, do not transfer a D10 placement into the D1 chart or mix houses between charts.

Each Varga is a deterministic mapping of the natal longitude using its own subdivision rule. The resulting Varga degree is a derived coordinate inside that divisional chart, not a new astronomical observation.

Use a Varga only for the topic it is meant to refine and always start from the natal D1 promise. More charts do not automatically produce more accuracy if the reader mixes their roles.

Step by step

  1. Start from the exact D1 longitude.
  2. Apply the Varga’s subdivision rule.
  3. Identify Varga sign, degree and house.
  4. Compare with D1 without replacing it.
  5. Use the relevant topic-specific practicum for synthesis.

Key points

  • Varga placement is derived, not a separate sky measurement.
  • Different Vargas answer different refinement questions.
  • Birth-time/degree errors can propagate into divisional charts.

Common mistake

Do not stack many Vargas into one conclusion without first deciding what question each chart is supposed to answer.

Do it yourself

  1. Open Varga Lab and choose the Varga from this lesson.
  2. Pick one planet and record D1 → Varga sign/house.
  3. Explain what changed structurally without judging it as good or bad.

Check yourself

Does a planet acquire a new astronomical longitude in D10?

Show answer

No. D10 is a divisional mapping of the same natal longitude.

  1. Varga Lab
