Find the Lagna and count houses

Explanation

Lagna means the Ascendant: the exact zodiac degree rising on the eastern horizon at the birth moment. Its Rashi becomes the 1st house in the whole-sign D1 used by this course.

In the North Indian diagram you do not search around the page for House 1. It is always the top-centre diamond. What changes from chart to chart is the Rashi number written there.

After House 1, count houses anti-clockwise. House 7 is always directly opposite House 1 at the bottom. House 4 is the central diamond on the left; House 10 is the central diamond on the right. These are the four Kendras and make excellent visual anchors.

If Taurus (2) rises, then House 1 = Taurus, House 2 = Gemini (3), House 3 = Cancer (4), House 4 = Leo (5), and the sequence continues until House 12 = Aries (1).

Notice the wrap after Pisces: 10 → 11 → 12 → 1 → 2. Rashi numbering is circular, not a one-way list that stops at 12.

Step by step

  1. Locate the fixed house position.
  2. Read the Rashi number in that position.
  3. Name the Rashi and its lord.
  4. Identify occupants and exact planet data.
  5. Explain the observation without predicting an event.

  • Position tells the house; the printed number tells the Rashi.
  • Observation comes before interpretation.
  • Exact degree belongs in the planet table, not in a guessed chart label.

Worked example

Taurus Lagna house-to-Rashi map: H1=2, H2=3, H3=4, H4=5, H5=6, H6=7, H7=8, H8=9, H9=10, H10=11, H11=12, H12=1.

If you click the right central diamond in our chart, the inspector says House 10. The prominent number in that compartment is 11, so read it as “10th house in Aquarius.”

Common mistake

Do not skip the decoding step because a familiar planet or sign catches your eye. One isolated placement is not the whole chart.

लग्न या Ascendant जन्मक्षण में पूर्वी क्षितिज पर उदित हो रहा सटीक राशि-अंश है। इस पाठ्यक्रम की पूर्ण-राशि D1 पद्धति में उसकी राशि प्रथम भाव बनती है।

उत्तर भारतीय चार्ट में प्रथम भाव खोजने के लिए पन्ने पर इधर-उधर नहीं देखना पड़ता। वह हमेशा ऊपर का मध्य हीरा है। अलग-अलग कुंडली में बदलता है केवल वहाँ लिखा राशि अंक।

प्रथम भाव के बाद भाव वामावर्त गिने जाते हैं। सप्तम भाव हमेशा सीधे सामने नीचे होता है। चतुर्थ भाव बाएँ मध्य हीरा और दशम भाव दाएँ मध्य हीरा है। ये चार केंद्र भाव अच्छे दृश्य-आधार हैं।

यदि वृषभ (2) लग्न है तो प्रथम भाव = वृषभ, द्वितीय = मिथुन (3), तृतीय = कर्क (4), चतुर्थ = सिंह (5), और क्रम चलते हुए द्वादश भाव = मेष (1) होता है।

मीन के बाद क्रम फिर मेष पर आता है: 10 → 11 → 12 → 1 → 2। राशि संख्या वृत्ताकार क्रम है।

चरण-दर-चरण

  1. भाव की निश्चित जगह पहचानें।
  2. उस जगह का राशि अंक पढ़ें।
  3. राशि और उसके स्वामी का नाम बताएं।
  4. स्थित ग्रह और उनका सटीक डेटा पहचानें।
  5. घटना की भविष्यवाणी किए बिना केवल तथ्य समझाएँ।

मुख्य बिंदु

  • जगह भाव बताती है; लिखा अंक राशि बताता है।
  • व्याख्या से पहले निरीक्षण आता है।
  • सटीक अंश ग्रह-तालिका से लें, चार्ट के छोटे संकेत से अनुमान न लगाएँ।

सामान्य गलती

किसी परिचित ग्रह या राशि को देखकर चार्ट-डिकोडिंग का चरण न छोड़ें। एक अकेली स्थिति पूरी कुंडली नहीं होती।

  1. कुंडली लैब खोलें और बिना किसी लिखे भाव नंबर के भाव 1, 4, 7 और 10 पहचानें।
  2. एक भाव चुनकर लिखें: भाव → राशि → स्वामी → स्वामी की स्थिति।
  3. आगे बढ़ने से पहले अपने वाक्य को हाउस इंस्पेक्टर से मिलाएँ।
